Spring in the Park

It was a chilly day in Central Park on Wednesday the 31st of March. It was so lovely to see early signs of Spring.

Black and White from the Past

For most of the pandemic I have been taking courses at F64 Elite by Blake Rudis. April’s challenge is to submit 2 dramatic black and white images for a possible critique. I converted four in my archives, being sure to have some absolute black and white in each, and sent in the first two below. Blake also posts many free tutorials on YouTube. I am also enjoying PixImperfect tutorials by Unmesh Dinda on the YouTube.

Greenbrook

On a very cold day in early March at Greenbrook Nature Sanctuary in Bergen County, New Jersey on the Palisades. There was still ice on the lake. We didn’t stay long because it was so cold.

Shawangunk Landscapes

The last of the Shawangunk Grassland NWR posts are these winter landscapes. We also stopped briefly at the nearby Wallkill River on the bridge at Galeville Road and Galeville Park next to the refuge. A muskrat was out feeding at the edge of the little pond near the feeders and I spotted a few deer feeding out in the grasslands.

CP late February

Scenes from our trip to the park last week.

42nd Street Buildings

For Thursday Doors.

Before 2000 I used to work nearby at TAMS doing GIS. In the 60’s my stepfather worked in the Chanin Building as a market research manager for Richardson Merrill. We used to sometimes eat at one of the last Horn & Hardart automats nearby.

Pond and Castle

Snow scenes at Turtle pond and Belvedere Castle. After the snow storm on Tuesday February 2nd. The snow adhered to the north sides of trees and the statue.

Snow on Horatio

A blizzard hit New York on February the first. Marc went out with my camera. I made one phot from the kitchen window. It is snowing again today but it is too warm for most of it to stick.
