Celery Farm
Exploring new places to go using Google maps I found a lovely little nature preserve called the Celery Farm. The Celery Farm is a 107-acre freshwater wetland in Allendale, New Jersey. See more about it here: The Fyke Nature Association.
Philipsburg Manor Nature
The Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow (hudsonvalley.org) was reopened this May after being closed for two years due to storm damage. They did a lovely job. The next post I will show some of the architecture.
Halibut Point State Park
On the last day of the trip we visited Halibut Point State Park. It used to be a granite quarry. One of the 6 posts on Cape Ann.
Ipswich River
On the third day Don led us on a canoe trip. The boats were rented from Foote Brothers Canoes. The plan was to paddle past three bridges. The water level was low and we only made it past two bridges because downed trees blocked our passage.
Essex River
An afternoon Essex River Cruise after the whale watch followed by a meal at Woodman’s. More lobster for me.
Roaring Fork Plants
On our second drive though Roaring Fork I concentrated on nature. The Smokies are full of wildflowers in the spring. I saw many new species. I added a couple of things seen other places to this post. I welcome corrections to my attempts at identification.
East Point Lighthouse
On our way to Wheaton we stopped at the Cape May Brid Observatory in Cape May Courthouse. Then briefly at the East Point Lighthouse in Heislerville, New Jersey. The last picture is a boat that we passed by several times at Fulling Mill Road, Rio Grande, New Jersey.
