On June 4, 2022 we went with members of Linnaean Society of NY and the NYC Butterfly club led by Rick Cech to observe butterflies at Ward Pound Ridge, Westchester, NY. I got some help identifying these by some of the experts in the group but it is more than likely that I misidentified a few. Skippers are such a challenge!
On this cold a windy Easter Sunday we went for a drive to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Westchester, New York. It was so cold we ate our picnic in the car. On the way back I chose a scenic route through Connecticut. we stopped at the Keeler Tavern in Ridgefield, CT. The entry fees to the museum where too much. I had a brief look at their lovely grounds.
We had a lovely trip birding with the Linnaean Society of NY to Rye Playlands and the Meadowland Conservancy in Westchester County, New York. The highlights were a flock of Snow Buntings, a Cooper’s Hawk, and a White-Fronted Goose.
