Piermont Pier

A short walk on a long abandoned pier now used for recreation. Lamont Dohrety has a Hudson River Field Station | Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at the end of the pier. Here’s some history about Piermont, New York – Wikipedia. I made a collage out of the many fish things on the poles.

Central Park Birds

After the annual Linnaean Society of NY picnic and get together in Central Park we went on a group birding walk. Here is a small sampling of birds that we saw.

Old Pier 1

Old Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park is a popular spot with photographers. I did a few long exposures. And I found a waterthrush there.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

A mixture of wildlife that I found in the park. There is a little wetland area with a pond by the Bridge View Lawn.

The Loch and Harlem Meer

I attended a B & H Camera event in Central Park. The focus was taking photographs of waterfalls. I didn’t learn anything new. I know how to adjust the shutter speed an ISO to make the water look milky. I enjoyed networking with the photographers, some I knew already.

There is a painted turtle in the foreground of the first picture. The turtle swam up to and under the waterfall. I think it was having fun.

After the B & H event I photographed the Harlem Meer.

Greenbrook Wildlife

A visit to the private little nature Sanctuary in Tenafly, New Jersey. The beetles and spider are new species for me.

Mt Loretto Crustaceans

There is a small beach at Mt Loretto with shells, sponges, and lots of other things.
