Forsythe Insects and Flowers

Third of 3 posts from Friday, July 31.

Forsythe Birds

Shorebird migration appears to be on.

Planting Fields

It was a lovely day after a hard rain in the morning which helped cool things off. Marc, Paula and I had a leisurely walk through the grounds of Planting Fields Arboretum admiring the flowers and trees.

Cloudy Long Island Beaches

It rained on and off during the morning while we there at Gilgo, Captree, Jones and Robert Moses. I didn’t see many shorebirds. It was fun watching the terns fish and squabble. It’s been ages since I went to the shore and we enjoyed the trip and picnic.

The clouds add atmosphere. I love processing the RAW images in Lightroom to reveal what I saw that the camera could not capture. It’s like magic. The last two are by Marc.

E B Forsythe NWR

We visited E. B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Atlantic County, New Jersey, for a couple of hours before viewing a house for sale nearby.

Insects and more at WPR

We drove two friends to Ward Pond Ridge, Westchester County, New York yesterday. It was too hot to walk much. We enjoyed a picnic by Cross River. There were butterflies, dragonflies, other insects, and one snake up a tree. It was resting after having just shed its skin.

Three for No Show

I framed these 3 for a show put on by Sierra Photo NYC that has been canceled.

Jamaica Bay NWR

After visiting Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in the morning of June 21st we drove down to Jamaica Bay in he afternoon and saw an additional 25 species of birds for the day in an hour. The jet speed antics of the Tree Swallows are such fun to watch.
