We drove the circuit in Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in February. There were thousands of Green-winged Teal and Snow Geese. The Hooded Mergansers looked startled by the Brant taking off.

We drove to Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (fws.gov) yesterday. First we stopped at Lucilles Luncheonette – Breakfast & Lunch Warren Grove, Stafford Twp. NJ for breakfast. Bought a sandwich there to have with some butternut soup. We spent the day driving around the preserve. The snow geese were spectacular. I caught a glamps of a Virginia Rail as it crossed the road.

On the way back form Cape May we stopped at E. B. Forsythe NWR again. Some of the shorebirds were digging holes and feeding on the horseshoe crab eggs. The blurry photo of the Osprey is because it was shaking off water.

Part two of our visit to Forsythe on May 14.

On our way to Cape May for a week’s stay we stopped at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge – Wikipedia in New Jersey. I love birding by car.

I took these items home from E. B. Forsythe to photograph and added backgrounds to them.

I used my wide angle Nikon 14-24 mm 2.8 f lens for these photographs taken at Edwin B. Forsythe NWR, except for the last one with the grasses.

My main goal at E. B. Forsythe NWR was to see some Snow Geese – mission accomplished. We also saw a Snowy Owl way off in the marsh and an immature Bald Eagle. It is so relaxing to drive around the loop with my scope and camera. The weather on Sunday was shirtsleeve warm.
