Greenbrook Edits

I downloaded a trial version of Boris FX Optics to see if it is worth purchasing to take my photographs to the next level. I will not buy it. I can do all that Optics offers in Photoshop. If on occasion I want some other presets I have On1 Effects, Luminar Neo and AI, and Topaz Photo AI. What I use the most are Blake Rudis’ F64 Elite panels in Photoshop Zone System Express and Palette Effects Bundle – f.64 Elite (f64elite.com). These buttons in the panels are basically shortcuts to what can be done in Photoshop without the panels. These addons make it faster to get what I want done. Blake’s tutorials explain how they work in detail.

Flooded City

A recurring dream of mine: New York City became flooded, and we live on the 4th floor by the Hudson River. A rowboat rowed by nuns comes to our window, and I climb in. We row of into the darkness. There are many other little boats with lights in the Hudson River. The city lies in darkness, but I feel content. I get into my sleeping bag and stare up at the stars as I drift off to sleep.

I sent in the text to Loóna – fall in love with sleep again (loona.app) as part of their new “Turn your sweetest dreams into art” and they used AI to create these images of my dream. I altered them a little. I turned off the city lights because if the city became flooded there would be no lights.  I like to use Loona to help me get to sleep.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

We attended a walk in Dumbo led by photographers who gave talks and classes at OPTIC. We split up into groups. I went around Brooklyn Bridge Park with Camille Seaman who gave a talk on the Polar Regions at OPTIC. She is a Shinnecock Native American photographer. I like her message and style of teaching. There was a filming of the Best Man… taking place there too.

Watercolor Rabbit

My second experiment with watercolor in Photoshop. After and before:

Iris Watercolor

I experimented with a watercolor effect created using some actions and brushes. If you are interested in trying it out or to see how it is done go to Transform Photos into Watercolors with a Free Photoshop Action.
