Gansevoort Peninsula

Gansevoort Peninsula — Hudson River Park was recently constructed and opened in 2023. Us the link to see more pictures. The salt marsh is not looking very healthy. I hope it survives.

Did you know: Manhattan once had a well-used Thirteenth Avenue? It ran from Bloomfield Street on what is now the Gansevoort Peninsula north to 23 Street. The area was later excavated to permit longer ships to dock without blocking the navigation channel. Today, only a one-block stretch of Thirteenth Avenue remains on the Gansevoort Peninsula. This block has been incorporated into the design for the Gansevoort Peninsula.”

Little Island

A little visit to Little Island. It is close to where we live. Home – Little Island.
Little Island is an initiative of The Barry Diller – Diana von Furstenberg (his wife) Family Foundation (DVFFF).

EB Forsythe NWR

We drove to Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (fws.gov) yesterday. First we stopped at Lucilles Luncheonette – Breakfast & Lunch Warren Grove, Stafford Twp. NJ for breakfast. Bought a sandwich there to have with some butternut soup. We spent the day driving around the preserve. The snow geese were spectacular. I caught a glamps of a Virginia Rail as it crossed the road.

Cover Designs

I did a major tidy up of old files saved from my past job on my computer. I haven’t looked at my my past work for years. I did the designs for report covers, presentations a mapping for 14 years for TAMS, Earth Tech, and AECOM (the same company with different ownership). My job included GIS cartography and graphic design. Here are some of the covers I designed and one display board at the bottom.
