Sometimes I’ll use iNaturalist on my phone at home to ID a plant on the computer screen. When that doesn’t work, I’ll search online until I find it. I am not sure about my berry ID in the last photo.

I didn’t see that many birds. My focus was on insects. I used AI to fix the blurry chipping sparrow.

The first thing I saw at Ward Pond Ridge was a Cicada. I can’t tell which one of the hundreds of species it is. It is about 2 inches long.

These are slightly easier to identify than skippers.

I’ll be making 7 posts on Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Westchester, New York. I would love to get a seasonal pass but they only offer passes to Westchester residents. It is a good place to look for butterflies in the summer in between the Spring and Fall bird migration.

We like to attend the annual Littoral Society Picnic. I go on a few of their trips during the year and admire the work that they do. Littoral News – Littoral Society has information on recent activities. Upcoming Events – Littoral Society This year we joined the seining group. We decided not to go on the bird or nature walk. 1. The human eye has a much wider dynamic range than a camera. It allows the eye to see details in both very bright and very dark areas simultaneously. Cameras have a more limited dynamic range compared to the human eye.
2. Editing allows me to create my artistic vision.
3. Photography as an art requires post processing. Example: Ansel Adams edited his images.
A friend shared her thoughts with me. She said that learning that I edit and enhance my photographs was the last straw. She will no longer look at my monotonous photographs.
Here are some examples. I think you can tell which ones are my edited versions.
