Central Park Three

We went to Central Park with the Linnaean Society of NY on a birding trip on Sunday 3/12/2023. It has been a long time since I’ve been to the park. It was lovely seeing my old friends. Richard Z led the trip and did an excellent job finding us birds. I will post some of the highlights here and in the next several posts.

Roosevelt Island South

After the Canada geese is a photograph of a root. There is a row of trees that sent out roots from the path into the lawn (seen in the picture with the geese). It is a very curious thing. There must be more water in the lawn for them.

Roosevelt Island Doors

The first one is a door in Manhattan seen just before going to the tram to Roosevelt Island. The other two are on Roosevelt Island.

For Thursday Doors hosted by Dan. Waltham and Newton – No Facilities for March 9, 2023

Roosevelt Island North

The Octagon is just before Lighthouse Park at the northern tip of Roosevelt Island. The second picture is a view inside looking up at the dome. I enhanced the skies in some of these.

Roosevelt Island Reflections

We all had fun making photographs with the puddles. A gull stepped in and posed for us.

Roosevelt Island Bridge

Another trip with Sierra Photo NYC – New York City Sierra Club Photography Committee. It was a gloomy day, but I didn’t mind because it adds atmosphere. I have 5 posts on this topic. The first 5 I photographed from the tram on the way from Manhattan to Roosevelt Island.

SUMMIT North

Views to the north from One Vanderbilt, New York City. Central Park is visible. This is the last post in this series.
