Dawn at Central Park

Turned out to be a rainy morning. We didn’t find very many birds but the light was lovely.

Afternoon at Pelham

Last Friday we went to Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, New York in the afternoon and had a 3 mile hike around Hunter Island. The views are lovely, but it was hot and buggy. After that we drove to the Lobster Shack on City Island to buy a take out. While parked off the road in a driveway a crew cab pickup truck scraped the paint off the edge of our side mirror. The list of mishaps grows long for our little VW Jetta “James”. We’ve only had it a couple of months.

Bailey Arboretum

After lunch at Glen Cove by the water we went to Bailey Arboretum, Long Island. A nice little woodsy place with a pond. Not many flowers though.

Coe Hall Doors

Some of the architecture and doors of Coe Hall and the Camelia House in Planting Fields Arboretum, Long Island, New York.

Floyd Bennett

We drove to Floyd Bennett field for me to have a practice session driving the car on the almost empty old runways. We had a picnic lunch by the community gardens there.

Three for No Show

I framed these 3 for a show put on by Sierra Photo NYC that has been canceled.

Jamaica Bay

We have a new car, a 2019 VW Jetta. I named it James in honor of my mother (her maiden name). We plan to look for a less expensive place to live in a more rural area, or find a summer place, and need a car to do so.

Meanwhile, we are having fun going to places we have trouble visiting. This trip was to Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, NY.

Hudson Sunset

Early in June I took these photos at the Hudson River Park near us. There was a family of Canada Geese on the walkway. A man gave the goslings a dish of water. They didn’t mind all the people passing by.
