In September 2005 we took my mother with us on vacation to Loon Lake in the Adirondacks, New York. As part of an assignment in photography I was asked to reprocess some old photographs. Over the next couple of weeks you will see the results of my edits to my Adirondack folder. The first picture is the Inn we stayed at by the lake. We were the only ones there.
Engine Company 14 is a fine old firehouse on E 18th Street in the East Village area of Manhattan. The ornate Beaux Arts design firehouse was erected in 1895. It was designed by architect Napoleon LeBrun, who was known for his decoratively designed fire stations. This style is typical of the earliest New York City firehouses. Engine Co. 14 has been recognized as a historic landmark.
