Strange Plants NYBG

I enhanced the strangeness on a few. I am guessing that the first plant might be in the artichoke or celery family.

Hydrangeas and Leaves NYBG

Hydrangeas in the Fall are just as pretty as when they were in full bloom.

NYBG Scenes

We went on a filed trip with the Sierra Photo NYC – New York City Sierra Club Photography Committee to the New York Botanical Garden (nybg.org) on November 11, 2023. I have over 300 photographs and of those I selected about 45 to show. Marc contributed some too. The first two are by Marc.

Skytop in Candensis

I had a hard time finding decent restaurants in the Poconos until a fellow traveler recommended Skytop Lodge | Poconos Resort | Skytop, PA. We dined at the Windsor. It was the best meal of the trip. I enjoyed exploring the fancy building and grounds.

Mountain Lake

Beams of light lit up the trees by this Mountain Lake in Candensis, Pennsylvania.

Kutztown

The Kutztown countryside with covered bridges and red barns is idyllic. “Like most of Berks County, Kutztown was settled predominantly by Germans, most of whom came from the Palatinate region of southwest Germany, which borders the Rhine river.” (Kutztown, Pennsylvania – Wikipedia.) We drove through Greenwich, Pennsylvania too.

Crystal Cave

We did a touristy thing and visited Historic Crystal Cave | First Show Cave in Pennsylvania (crystalcavepa.com). The history page is intersting. The cave was discovered in 1871 and some of the rock formations are a half-million years old (Crystal Cave (Pennsylvania) – Wikipedia.)
