The Kutztown countryside with covered bridges and red barns is idyllic. “Like most of Berks County, Kutztown was settled predominantly by Germans, most of whom came from the Palatinate region of southwest Germany, which borders the Rhine river.” (Kutztown, Pennsylvania – Wikipedia.) We drove through Greenwich, Pennsylvania too.
Me too the covered bridge

Thanks Derrick. And I didn’t need to alter the skies. 😊

These covered bridges are my treasures, unfortunately there is only one left in Ontario. We are lucky that the maritime provinces have better preserved their treasure of the past.

I know there is a book on them. New England has many covered bridges.

The stone barn is my favorite. I did ponder that upper door for a while. I presume a set of wooden stairs was there at one time. ‘Berks county’ caught my attention, too. I’ve always heard of the Berkshires; even though the county and the mountain range are in different states, they’re close enough that there might be a connection.

It was a treat. I gave it a dirt road.
