Spring brings in the migrants. Lots of Chipping Sparrow, and Hermit Thrushes are starting to come in. It is a bit too early for large numbers of warblers.
Now that treatments at the Morrison Center in NYC are helping me to feel better I hope to visit the park more often. Last year I rarely went out.

A Pretty shop done up for Spring
A gate leads into this lovely little triangular park, Father Demo Square.
A trip to Central Park on Easter Sunday netted as few birds. Spring migration wasn’t on for Sunday in the park. They must have flew on by. I did see a blue headed vireo at the point. Couldn’t get a good photograph of it.
I think this is a Dryad’s Saddle (Polyporus squamosus). They’re large—about 4 inches across. There are inky caps in the rear left (click to enlarge).
