I love it when I can catch one on flight. They are so fast and tiny.

On the corner of Prince and MacDougal Streets is 205 Prince Street. Next door is o a Greek Revival/Federal building on land once owned by Aron Burr. I haven’t tried the little French bistro, The Little Prince. I plan to do so soon. Many years ago there were several French restaurants there and they celebrated Bastille Day with food, wine and boules in the street. This year one Bastille Day street fair will be on July 14 on West 60th Street.

We saw an Eastern Red Bat by the Evolia feeders in the Rambles, Central Park. Poor little thing needed help. I heard later that it was rescued by the Wild Bird Fund.

Black-and-White Warbler breeds in northern and eastern North America and winters in Florida, Central America, and the West Indies down to Peru. One of its calls is so high pitched I need my hearing aids to hear it:

This one was passing through Central Park.

All sorts of warblers are passing through now to challenge my shooting skills. The second photograph is the usual view we all see. The Warbler Guide by Stephenson and Whittle helps in identifying warbler butts. I counted 36 species in Central Park yesterday and I barely moved.
