Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow (hudsonvalley.org) in Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York is well worth a visit. The docents do an excellent job telling all about the history.
For Dan’s Thursday Doors. Back at OSV – No Facilities is Dan’s door post for today.

Thanks for these photos of Philipsburg Manor, Sherry. You did a good job of showing many aspects of the inside and outside of the Manor, including the slavery lesson.
Thank you Jet. 👋😁
I like the way we have to look for some of these doors
If I remember correctly, this is where I waited before boarding the bus to the Rockefeller estate.
That is correct. One can get tickets there to other estates.
What an interesting historical place to visit and to reflect on the questions they pose!
The history lessons on slavery are important.
An interesting place
It is indeed. We enjoyed it.
Wonderful! We visited several times, while living in NYC! Dutch heritage.
The new welcome center is lovely, and they have made the tours even better. The focus is slavery.
I see we’re on a similar plain this week, Sherry. These are beautiful photos. I love the first photo of the footbridge. The history revealed in these visits is often disturbing. Still, I think it’s good that we can visit and learn about our past. Thakns for joining us at Thursday Doors!
