After a short stop at Jamaica Bay I decided to visit the community gardens at Floyd Bennett Field to look for butterflies.

Believe it or not, I found a wasps’ nest this weekend, and I think it might be the same species. I’ll have to compare the markings on the bodies. Despite being yellowish, I think you found an Orange Sulphur butterfly. And I really enjoyed the image of those whirring skipper wings. That’s a neat photo.
“Scenic garden beauty captured perfectly!” 🦋🌻📷
Thank you.
Lovely butterfly photos. 🙂
Thanks
I feel like I see less and less black Caps and red caps these days
There is less wildlife everywhere. 🙁
Yup!
Thanks for these amazing butterflies. Anita
Your welcome Anita
Beautiful photos, Sherry!
Thank you.
Love those butterflies
Thanks Sue
Well captured!
Thank you
I’m pleased you found some – and other subjects while you were at it
Thanks Derrick 👍😊
stunning shots Sherry
Thanks 😘
I have to ask — did you taste the berries?
No because that would be theft. They were tempting. There where hundreds of wasted tomatoes on the ground left unclaimed by the owners.

I use bugguide.net for some insects like the wasp. I had the Sulphur labeled in the metadata. I missed labeling it in the post.
I use BugGuide, too. It’s a terrific resource.
