First we did a walk with Don Riepe at Jamaica Bay in New York City. There are two immature snow geese. Can you spot them?
After that we drove to Sunset Cove and Floyd Bennett Field.

Jamaica Bay is lovely this time of the year. Soon the Snow Geese will leave. We were there a few days ago. The Horned Grebe is starting to transition to alternate plumage, such a clear and precise picture you took of it. If you decide to go back, I have a scope. We saw about 40-50 Green-winged Teals, Greater and some Lesser Scaup and other duck species. I saw one A. Oystercatcher, but more shorebirds should soon arrive. Sounds like you had a beautful day. There is a continuing Red-necked Grebe at the boat basin in Floyd Bennet. Let me know. Again I have the scope for good looks.
Thanks Anne. Have a cold today so no outing for me.
An excellent set. One second on our left and the other above your signature, I think
Thanks Derrick. 🦆
