I like to visit the Conservatory Garden in Central Park to search for insects. I didn’t stay long because it was late in the afternoon.

    What a great assortment of bugs! I was going to ask if you had a tough time finding these bugs, but I read the first part of your post that you didn’t stay long.

    Hover do not sting, bee mimic in appearance. They also pollinate. As flies they have 2 wings, Flies are diptera, 2 wings. Thanks for bringing us the world of they tiny, the foundation of much of the larger forms of life we see. Let us thank them.

      That is right for the first one. The others are not Syrphidae. I could not identify exactly which species of Serphidae the first one is. I could send it to bugguide.net.
