Lahaina in Maui Doors

This is the first of many posts from our vacation in Maui, Hawaii in November 2022. I read James Mitchener’s Hawaii before our trip. That long and detailed book filled me in on all the history. The Baldwins were missionaries. They lived in Lahaina.

How interesting, Sherry! I bet you had a wonderful time. The style of house seems like Southern style with Spanish style roof. Attractive in a laid-back way.

I thought an odd style for a northerner. It does look very Southern. Yes we had a marvelous time thanks.

Thanks for sharing photos from your vacation, and thanks for including the historic markers. It’s amazing to thing that there is/was land anywhere in Hawaii that requires irrigation.

I had the same idea – that it was all tropical. The trade winds can’t carry the moisture over the mountains. Most of the resorts are on the dry side of Maui.
