A small assortment of wildlife on Governors Island. Do you see the spider? I didn’t see it until I opened the image at home. Bugguide.net helped me with some of the identifications.
Crab Spider (Thomisidae) on Carolina Horsenettle (Solanum carolinense), Governors Island 8/27/2019 Flower Wasp (Scolii), Governors Island 8/26/2019 Flower Wasp (Scolii), Governors Island 8/26/2019 Four-toothed Mason Wasp (Monobia quadridens), Governors Island 8/26/2019 Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus), Governors Island 8/27/2019 Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia), Governors Island 8/26/2019 Barn Swallow, Governors Island 8/27/2019
Amazing close-ups, Sherry. Even though my spider phobia has lessened a teeny tiny bit since I was younger, I still can’t stand them. This one is definitely interesting though, it looks like his legs are backwards. The barn swallow is so sweet, just patiently waiting on the line and contemplating his day 😊

It’s a cute little critter. Likes to ambush bugs in flowers. Glad you enjoyed the pics 🙂

Such sharp images – I often don’t see bits that the camera does

I used my Samsung S10+ cell and a Sony RX10M4. It’s fun getting surprised by the camera.
