This was supposed to be a Whale Watch and Beach Party cruise to Sandy Hook and back, but we didn’t find any whales. Sony provided photographic equipment to try and an open bar. It was a lovely ride and and I had lots of fun. This is my last post on OPTIC.

First snow this year at Hudson River Park in Greenwich Village. I was mystified by a string of circular ice cubes (next to last photo). I figured it out: The snow plow treads left them.
One of my favorite photographs made in 2011 by the Hudson River in Manhattan. Left alone nature will take over. On the left is before processing an don the right after I warmed it up.
At the entrance to Little Island is the remains of Pier 54. Here’s a bit of history on it. There is more parkland being built in the river.
The plantings are lovely.
