At dawn we went to the bridge leading to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. We were reward with a sighting of a Clapper Rail. After breakfast we drove to the refuge and saw lots of wildlife. There are many deer and ticks. I got 4 tick bites during the trip. I spotted one on our car window trying to get in! And there are mosquitoes in multitudes. We saw Chincoteague ponies known as the Assateague horses. Delmarva fox squirrels are only found in that area.

Wow, like that Delmarva fox squirrel – never seen one of those before.
The Delmarva squirrels are large, and they have big heads. Reminds me of a cross between a squirrel and a rabbit. 🙂
A really good range of photographs, especially the well framed wildlife. I do hop those ticks are not the dangerous ones.
Now I have horse pictures too. 🙂 I was perscribed a round of doxycycline just in case those ticks carried Lyme. I do not want another case of it.

Your photographs are superb.
Thank you so much. I try to show only my best ones. Sometimes I will show a substandard one because it is the only capture of a species. On the first one it was very dark, but today’s cameras tackle it so well.
