Not very many birds that afternoon in the park. I found a few insects to photograph. Second of 4 posts.

The Ailanthus is one of my favorite insects — so colorful. The other interesting thing is that I’ve yet to see any of these flowers in bloom. The boneset is budding, but it’s been so hot and humid, they’re probably waiting for cooler weather. There’s no goldenrod appearing yet, either.
Great photos, Sherry. I love watching carpenter bees. When they are interested in a flower, they don’t seem to mind if we get close.
Thanks Dan. I enjoy yoyr posts too. Love seeing what your local wildlife gets up to.
Wonderful photos of the insects, Sherry. That first one, the Ailanthus Webworm, is such an ornate and beautiful insect.
Thanks Jet. I love the orange black and white pattern too.
Hoverfly on Boneset? The language is almost as interesting as the insect and its flower. That hoverfly is sure pretty.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed them.
You know your insects and flowers 🙂
I am no expert. I do a lot of research to ID things.

We are starting to get a few cooler days. I haven’t seen goldenrod either.
