We saw Frigate birds over the beach and over Alau Island Seabird Sanctuary.
Legend: The dark red sand at Kōkī Beach was produced by the nearby cinder cone hill of Ka Iwi O Pele, meaning “bones of Pele.” According to Hawaiian legend, Kōkī Beach is where the volcano goddess Pele fought her final battle with her older sister, Namakaokaha’i, the goddess of the ocean.
Wialu Falls is visible from the Hana Highway.

The scenery is very different along the coast and the scenery in Iceland or along the east coast such as Maine. I feel privileged to have seen it.

Thank you, dear Athira. I am happy you like them. I hope you don’t mind my word correction. Other professional photographers might take offence if you call their work snaps or pics. I spend many hours making my photographs. I take care when shooting and post process all of them in Lightroom and Photoshop. Here’s a Google definition: “I would say a snap is a photograph taken on the spur of the moment without any prior thought as to composition etc. A “photograph” is made with all due regard to lighting, shutter speed and composition and is in a different class from a snap.”
