Yesterday we went to the Chandler Preserve in Mt Sinai, Long Island, New York with the Linnaean Society of NY. After the main field trip was over a few of us went to a field by the Chandler VOR-DME nearby.

Wonderful to see this fantastic array of birds, butterflies and flowers, Sherry. Great that a blue grosbeak graced your path, and so many other birds, including the osprey fish action. I really liked the adorable cottontail photo, such a treat to see the sunlight highlighting the pink in its ears.
Thanks Jet. I always love your comments. Makes my day 😉
What a wide variety of birdlife. I have a Great Egret living somewhere in the small wetlands behind my apartment building. I’ve taken a few photos through high reeds so they weren’t the best shots.
Looks like you had a very successful walk.
It was lovely. And nice to spend some time with friends.
A very successful trip by the look of it!
Not bad for a summer trip. It was a bit hot though.
I love flower shows! Those are some lovely creations!
