The UK birds are not so unfamiliar to me 🙂 Thanks Derrick. I hear your weather is still too hot. So is ours. We went to see the tall ships come up the Hudson on July 4th. I almost fainted on the way home.

Those are beautiful birds, Sherry. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a gray heron.
We have to spell it the European way – grey. It’s widespread across Eurasia and Africa, including Europe, western and eastern Asia, and parts of Africa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_heron. Probably why you haven’t seen one yet, or you may have while traveling abroad and not realized it.
I’m holding my breath for the lots of rain that hasn’t materialized yet.
It’s raining here. I’ve had very limited travel abroad. But I enjoy the birds and animals people share from their travels.

Pat Lindsey found it and did not know what it was, so different. She identified it. She was congratulated. It was out on L.I. near I forget the name of the placed a little past Hechschere.
I looked it up. It is a Eurasian species – the smallest of the shanks. How interesting.
