Ward Pound Ridge Butterflies

We went on our own this time to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation (westchestergov.com). We ran into some members of the NY Butterfly Club and the Linnaean Society and said Hi to our friends. I did my best to to identify these. Skippers are a challenge. I got help from BugGuide.net for the moth.

I like these photos Sherry, I must be on the lookout for butterflies here in our area too.

Try to find out what their host plants are. I found a list online for our area.

Wow, a bonanza of butterflies, some of them unusual. Great photos (butterflies are so tricky to snap) and the identification is much appreciated. I was instantly attracted to the elegant spicebush Swallowtail. Thank you, Sherry.
