Fantastic!! I so enjoyed these endearing photos, Sherry, of the American Oystercatchers. You captured some great moments with the parent shielding the chicks, and all the chick photos are adorable.
Thank you, Bruce. It is nice to hear from you. I would like to paint again but I need studio space. I was hoping to move out of my tiny apartment but the rise in prices post COVID made that impossible with our small retirement funds. I’ve put my artistic drive into photography and digital art for now.
When I saw those spread wings in the third photo, I wondered if there might be another chick there. Sure enough — there it is, in the fourth photo. My favorite is of the adult offering the bit of food to the chick. They’re so sweet.
Enjoyed your lovely views of these adorable creatures!
Thanks BB

Thank you so much Jet. It was such a treat to see the babies.
First time I have seen their chicks – very cute.
They are adorable.
Hello Sherry, I was wondering if you will ever paint again. One of the first paintings I ever bought was done by you, and i cherish it dearly.

Their chicks are darling! I liked your photo of the young bird with one foot raised in front of it.
Thatt must be the one where the chick is running.

They are adorable. It makes me smile remembering them.
Lovely pictures, hope you saw the Piping Plovers
Only one piping plover there and no chicks.
Lovely pics – especially the chicks which I have never seen
The chicks are so sweet. If you ask your local birders they can tell you where to find them.
The little one is so cute to see – lovely photography
Thanks. I made a special trip to see them at the crack of dawn.
