Near the Hudson River on Leroy Street is a new building. I stopped to photograph the door and tree. The doorman came out and told me not to take photographs. I told him it is legal to take photographs of places if you are standing on public property.
I threw in the two trees for extras.

Good for you! I can understand not taking pictures of people and events, but buildings? I never understand that These are very nice photos and the trees are a nice bonus.

It is strange. How can taking a picture cause a problem or harm a building? Thaks Dan 🙂

I like the first shot, the entrance looks really nice. I could have understood the doorman’s attitude if he’d been in the shot but he wasn’t – sounds to me like he was a bit too full of his own importance.

I agree. Plus, he didn’t know the law.

For a new building, they went to a lot of expense to make it look old with the landscaping. The larch tree alone must have cost a fortune! What a gorgeous place it is!

Well done. I don’t know what the law is here, but I do know that it is legal to photograph people in public places – nevertheless I inform objectors of that and demonstrate that I am deleting the picture anyway.
