I think ‘squill’ is one of the funniest plant names there is. It makes me think of Lewis Carroll. Of course, ‘cheddar pink’ is amusing, too, but in a sort of ghastly way. I’ve found cheddar pink in the back of my refrigerator on occasion.
I have some buds from plants in the iris family to show that look remarkably like the ones you’ve presented here.
I agree. There were some in Central Park but vandals uprooted them. Happens to many of these wild orchids in other places too unfortunately. Thanks for your appreciation.
