I had no idea various species had different scents. Now I really wish I were there in lilac-land!

If you have a botanical garden nearby that has lilacs you can sniff them out 🙂

No lilacs here — none whatsoever. They don’t grow down here.

That’s what I think, too. They were my favorite spring flower in the midwest — along with forsythia and flowering almond.
