Last Friday we went to Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, New York in the afternoon and had a 3 mile hike around Hunter Island. The views are lovely, but it was hot and buggy. After that we drove to the Lobster Shack on City Island to buy a take out. While parked off the road in a driveway a crew cab pickup truck scraped the paint off the edge of our side mirror. The list of mishaps grows long for our little VW Jetta “James”. We’ve only had it a couple of months.

sorry to hear James got a close shave! Going to ask a friend about that mushroom?
I bought James some touch up paint. I will investigate that huge fungus. I’ll try iNaturalist first.
I talked to a friend and she thinks it might be a “Chicken Of The Woods” in late stage?
Maybe. It was not very fleshy. The “leaves’ where thin. I also thought it might be that but wasn’t convinced.
Beautiful images, and that mushroom, you should post it online to find the name of it, it is intriguing. Looks like a most excellent voyage
Thank you so much. I’ll look into that mushroom sometime. So busy house hunting no rtime for much else.
Beautiful photographs! Just brightened my day
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed them.
great pictures…
Thanks. I like to take the time to process them in Lightroom — today’s dark room.
Beautiful!
Thank you very much.
Lovely scenery, Sherry
Thank you Sue
Cool 😎 I had to ‘Wiki’ to find out where I was 🙂
Sorry about that. I added Bronx, NY. Also the home of the Last Algonquin Native American https://www.amazon.com/Last-Algonquin-Theodore-Kazimiroff/dp/0802775179/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Interesting 🙂 Thanks Sherry ~Willy
According to a letter by Pieter Janszoon Schagen, Peter Minuit and Dutch colonists acquired Manhattan on May 24, 1626, from unnamed Native American people, who are believed to have been Canarsee Indians of the Lenape, in exchange for traded goods worth 60 guilders,[22] often said to be worth US$24.

I know. The American Natural History museum has a diorama of the sale. It is controversial and a disclaimer saying says that this is not agreeable to Native Americans and not true.
🙂 I learn something everyday 😉
Lovely pictures
Thanks Anne
