Gantry Plaza SP

I signed up for a trip with a photo group. Four participants met at the Pepsi sign at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City. This location is on Hunters Point by the East River in New York City. I altered the sky in the first and last image. It was nice to meet a couple of fellow photographers. It started to rain heavily so we all left early.

A good variety of textures in the shoreline shots

Nice sense of the “nitty gritty” of the river bed shore. Your last photo is very yellow looking – mroe than just a photo? I don’t think it was the time for forsythia, but what could make it that yellow – nature of some kind or photo doctoring?

Thanks BB. That is the real color that I saw on those yellow willow trees – a yellow lime green. In spring time many trees look yellow when they first begin to leaf out.

BTW, all my photos are doctored. I take all of them through the “dark room” and process them to bring out what I felt or saw. My photgraphy is art and not meant to be documentary. I never post images that come straight out of the camera. They start out dull and lifeless before processing.

I like them all, but for me, the last one (skyscrapers and trees) is the best.
