Poconos in October 1

In mid October we spent a week in the Poconos at Woodfield Manor near Cresco, Pennsylvania. The first couple of days it rained. I didn’t mind because it added atmosphere. We ate dinner at a restaurant called Waters Edge.

Thanks Anne. The highlight of the trip was two Pilleated Woodpeckers. I didn’t manage to take a photo of them.

These convey what for me is the very essence of autumn: a little moody and a bit nostalgic, but quite beautiful. I think I prefer scenes like this as much or more than brilliant trees against a pure blue sky. ‘Water’s edge’ certainly is apt. Does that place ever flood?

Me too. I like rain and fog in Autumn. It is a small lake. It probably doesn’t flood much there. We were getting flood warnings here in lower Manhattan. Flooding isn’t likely where we live. I once had a dream it was flooded, and a rowboat came to rescue us on the third floor. LOL

Lovely photos. I live near the Poconos, I don’t know why I don’t visit more often.

Thanks Dan. I tried to capture the fog and rain with a bit of autumn color. I enjoyed the peacefulness.
