Hempstead House and Castle Gould are in Sands Point Preserve in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. The house tour was a disappointment. It isn’t furnished and past multiple uses has destroyed a lot of the character. I will not return for another visit. I liked Old Westbury Garden much better.
This brought back so many memories. I used to spend a lot of time at Sands Point Preserve. My father had a sail boat in Hempstead Bay.
It was my first time there. We live in Manhattan so going to Long Island is a journey. Glad you enjoyed reminiscing.
