The Sweetbriar Nature Center (sweetbriarnc.org) does animal rescue. The long-eared owl is a rescue. The other two are local residents. I had fun with the chipmunk photograph. It represents our burning forests. Fun fact.: There are more trees on Earth than there are stars in the milky way – there were.

        I would guess its alertness is not due to you intruding on its space, since it is so fully focussed on the left of the camera.

      Thanks. He is not a relaxed owl. I am reading about owls and learning a lot about them.

    All great photos but the chipmunk one is a really powerful representation of what mankind and climate change are doing to our planet.
