All so beautiful and yes, that tree is fascinating! It kind of looked to me like there was some 4 legged animal at the base of the tree such as a large dog (minus tail) orperhaps a wildcat…

Interesting observation. I don’t see a critter in the tree trunk, but many others might.

I wonder if the large tree was split by lightning at some time in the past. It’s a fascinating specimen.

Maybe it was struck by lightning. Looks like a very old tree.
