I’ve always enjoyed watching glassblowers at work. I haven’t seen many. This looks like is was a fun tour.
I enjoyed the day at the art center. The town of Wheaton is a bit derelict. You might like to drive down there sometime to watch the glass blowers and pottery makers at work. .
I just looked at the Wheaton Arts site; what a fascinating place in all respects. I’ve never heard of it. When it comes to blown glass, I’ve been more familiar with Cornell. Have you seen Harvard’s Blashka collection of glass flowers and fruit? That’s the one I’d like to see.
I would love to go to Corning, but it is far from NYC. Thanks for the tip about the Blashka glass at Harvard. Both are a 4-hour drive one way and require staying over.
Watching glassblowers at work is fascinating. Several years ago I went to the glass factory at Murano near Venice, the skill of the workers was amazing and the chandeliers in the showroom were out of this world.
I love glass making too and will watch it any chance I get. There was a TV competition glass making show that I liked.

Realy spectatculare to see these men at work. I also visited a factory like this one in Belgium (Val Saint Lambert Cristal) but now the factory is closed since many yearrs.
A lot of women do it too. I’ve seen a glass making facility in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and one in Germany south of Berlin. Someday I’d like to visit the Corning factory in New York.
