Dumbo, is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connects Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.

I love all of these doors but I would love to walk through the Bowne & Co door once again. I believe I was there years ago, I love paper so much. thank you for sharing

Bowne & Co is a wonderful looking building.I have always loved the buildings near the seaport. These are great photos.I like those iron doors on Water St and the hardware at 31 Washington (thanks for the close up). The iron railing is equally amazing. Great collection today!

OK. This time I’ll ask for an explanation. What is DUMBO? The only thing that comes to mind when I see the word is a big-eared baby elephant.
