While the weather was hot to hot to enjoy going out I stayed home and worked on the photographs I took in the New York Botanical Gardens, Bronx, New York on August 18, 2011. There are so many that I would like to share I will be posting these for six days.
Cycad, NYBG 8/18/2021 Fern, NYBG 8/18/2021 Fern, NYBG 8/18/2021 Fern, NYBG 8/18/2021 Rattlesnake Plant (Goeppertia insignis) Marantaceae, NYBG 8/18/2021 Fern, NYBG 8/18/2021

That rattlesnake plant is amazing. The leaves look as though the pattern is embossed. I suspect you’re staying in today because of water rather than heat. I hope you haven’t suffered because of the flooding from the remnants of Ida.

I had fun with these photos. The dark patter is raised on the rattlesnake plant.
Subways are partially out this morning but busses are OK. Pity the folks who had to go out in it. We had dozens of flooding alerts on our phones.

Thanks Derrick. I isolated the plants by shading some areas.
The remnants of hurricane Ida came through last night. The wild weather woke me up. Lots of damage and a few deaths in NYC.
