Insects July CP

Sherry Felix

A short trip to Central Park netted these insects. I spotted these at the south end of the lake where there is a wildflower patch and nature trail. The excellent entomologists at www.bugguide.net helped me identify the Drone Fly. The rest I figured out on my own.

      That was the first time I ever saw one. I identified it by searching for butterfly with a snout. Bing found it right off.

    Your insect images are beautiful. They have excellent sharp focus so you much have a very steady hand holding your camera 🙂

      Thanks Vicki. I thank the AF-S Micro Nikkor 105 mm 1:2.5 G ED lens. It works very well hand held with VR on. I love that lens.
