I was able to spend a couple of hours in the park and managed to capture a couple of Kinglets (Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned). They are such fun to watch. These tiny acrobatic birds flit about so fast they are hard to photograph. Every click of the shutter found them in a new position.

Such a treat to see your kinglets, Sherry; and great to see both species. Our ruby-crowns have come in now and keep me, too, chasing after them with joy. Their acrobatics and fluttering in place are delightful.
They are such sweet little birds.
Never heard of them until your lovely post . . they are stunning birds and I’m in awe you managed to photograph them 🙂
Thanks Becky. Have you seen Firecrests? They are like Kinglets.

I must have since I know the name and they look very familiar. I’ll be a bit more observant this winter as I should see them here in England and in Portugal.
Happy hunting 🙂
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never seen one of these cuties before. Maybe I’m not looking fast enough 😉
Hope you find them. The maps shows where they can be found https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Ruby-crowned_Kinglet/id and https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Golden-crowned_Kinglet/id Fall migration is a good time to catch them.
Welp. I see that the Golden Crown may visit me in winter, however Ruby is going to avoid the Midwest. I’ll look out for them, but not too hard 😉
Thanks for the info!!
Yes, they are qiuck, you have captured that*!*
Thanks. Firecrests are bit like kinglets.
I love kinglets too! You’re lucky to have both kinds.
