The Brown pelican found in Chincoteague is a subspecies. It is Pelecanus occidentalis var. carolinensis. They make me smile.
I also put pelicans from our trip on this post: Explore Chincoteague Island: Private Boat Tours & Wild Ponies.
The birds on the poles are cormorants and pelicans. The poles are all that is left of a house.

That first shot is particularly intriguing and the cormorants lined up for a race
Anything with pelicans is funny. 🙂
Cute with 1 bird per pole!
Glad it made you smile 🙂
…and! The last picture is so beautiful! Soft and inviting! Also interesting, to keep the eye wondering 🙂 How did you achieve the picture’s creamy, dreamy look?
It was an overcast day. Nature provided the look 🙂 Thanks for your lovely comments.
Love it!
Such a peaceful scene! I don’t know anything about pelicans! And the Chincoteague brown pelican is a subspecies—so interesting! They look cute!
Pelicans are so goofy. They make me laugh. Thanks Ilze.
I went to YouTube and checked these out 😀 Gullible!
