We saw a small exhibit in the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx on Van Gogh. The best things where the quotes of Van Gogh. I was not enthralled by this display. I imagined seeing and feeling hints of where he lived and worked. The artwork not to my taste. Strange that they left out yellow in the pallet. Yellow is one of Van Gogh’s much used colors.

It’s an interesting and creative way to highlight an artist.
Hi Sherry. I agree with your response to the Van Gogh show. In fact, I kept thinking I was missing some part of it. I did love the field of sunflowers — very impressive to see them at the beginning of June and it was cold that day, too — and the palette near the main entrance to the NYBG. You’ve photographed the latter. What was absolutely beautiful, my friend and I thought, were the peonies along the walkway in front of the conservatory. So many different kinds and those colors!
I am confused by the plants in a frame. Because they look very real – not painting by Van Vogh. Please explain!
Someone thought putting real plants in a frame has something to do with Van Gogh.
