A few dragonflies that I found in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey.

    We saw many, many kayaking on the Wading River 5/20/25. Never saw these chubby guys before. I live in North Jersey. Wasn’t even sure they were dragonflies because they were never still, just hovering about 5 feet above very shallow water.

      Thanks Derrick. I love the word odonate. It refers to their toothed mouth parts. They are predators.
