Hi Sherry, I’ve just been in Ireland—driving around between Cork and the Ring of Kerry, unfortunately without the aid of a good geoleogical reference book, so I’ve been meaning to get one but forgot until I saw this email. Can you say anything more about the geology of this site? I know that’s your background! Thinking of our summer partnerships years ago—they were fun, even if under-appreciated by the masses. Best wishes,Jill

I know the basics. Ancient seafloor buried and metamorphosed and uplifted due to plate tectonics. There is metamorphotic Granite, schist, and marble. Also volcanic diabase. All was worn down by glacier as well.
