Roosevelt Island

This is the first of a half dozen posts of photographs made during a trip to Roosevelt Island in the East River on February 17^th 2022. The two mile long island is part of the borough of Manhattan, New York. The island was called Minnehanonck by the Lenape and Varkens Eylandt (Hog Island) by New Netherlanders (source: Roosevelt Island – Wikipedia). The trip was sponsored by Sierra Photo NYC. Some of these have augmented skies.

I tend to prefer simplicity in a photo, but I do like the way your processing highlighted the fountain in the third photo. It helps it to stand out despite the ‘clutter’ of late winter foliage. The last image is the most interesting to me. The path to an indeterminate destination seems to fit the times.
