I’m a member of Sierra Photo NYC – New York City Sierra Club Photography Committee. We went to Central Park for a photoshoot on November 4th 2021. I made a lot of photographs. It was hard to choose what to post so I’ll show half of them over the next several posts.

Holy mackerel — you knocked my socks off, Sherry!! So many intriguing and unique interpretations of the Central Park plants, and presented in true style. You had me drawn in with the interesting okra plants, then the delicate purple morning glory and the arching grass. That purple star-like flower with the pollen and black background is stunning. Each photo draws us in. And then I got to the fifth from the bottom, that incredible pink casing with the lipstick-red seed bursting out…wow. I did this series backwards, and truly enjoyed every single photo. Thanks so very much.
Gee thank you for such glowing compliments. I blush. So glad you enjoy my work.
I’m amazed that these were blooming on November 4. Perhaps being inside the city, Central Park remains warmer than outlying areas. They’re all lovely, but I was surprised by the okra, and delighted by the last image.
It is warmer here. The last one was a tiny thing. 🙂
I love the colors and the contrast (either of color or focus). I’m a big fan of backlit leaves. Very nice work.
Thanks so much Dan.
Some lovely compositions there, it’s hard to choose a favourite 🙂
Thanks Eunice
A beautiful selection of flowers and plants.
Thanks Larry
Beautiful pictures. The detail is excellent.
Thanks. I like my Nikon Z 7 and the zoom lens for it.
Nice detail shots 🙂
Thanks. 🙂
Grandiosa! Belissimo!
grazie
You have made marvellous compositions with these.
Thanks Derrick. My training as a painter comes in handy for composition. My mentor was Bill Skilling, a lovely gay man from Scotland. We worked together for about 8 years painting in assorted styles for a company that sold decorative art. I worked as an artist for about 20 years.
